A little preachy sounding, but just expressing my mind. Can one remember events that have yet to happen? How do you feel nostalgic for a future that never will be? Longing for a time that never was. The human mind is twisted, and if you try and get too close, you might find yourself tangled in the vines of yesterday - clawing at tomorrow in desperation, but it never comes. You see, we do not get to experience yesterday, or tomorrow. For life is a sequential series of today, followed by today, and even more today. It's only ever going to be today. "See you tomorrow" if today ever decides to get there. For one day, today will last a little shorter than most. We were born today, but we missed some of that day too. They say the day you are born, and the day you die are the only two days you never get to experience completely in a lifetime. Today I'm feeling down. It's only for today. I've been struggling with today, but it might get better tomorrow. I peer vaugely into the past, attempting to recall the days that I felt free and light. It was only a few days ago that I wrote in my journal: "Today was a good day. Things went well." But yesterday isn't today, and feels just as foregin as last year or the next one. Time is a construct, so it has been said. Fine, but it's defunct, and fucks me in the head. I don't really get it, no matter how hard I try. I won't freely set it, when I'm sure it's all a lie. I mash my words together, and speak them like a song, Flashes of worlds forever, repeating what is wrong. History has a history of repeating itself, and it seems like a hard habit to kick. A real tough pill to swallow, A real kick in the... shins. Hang on to your sense of humor, In these trying times ahead. Laughter's the best medicine, Especially when you're dead... inside. Let me take you along this ride, On this rollercoaster called My Mind. Brush your worries to the side, Forget that the world is so unkind. We live in a time, where technology is booming. Children screaming, iPad's soothing. Wars are raging, but memes keep looping. Injustice and inequality, guess who just dropped some music? It's confusing -This new-age movement, Like running through quicksand, You'll sink if you try and elude it. Don't think you're a fool if you abuse it, Just remember it's a tool, and we're the fuses.
