this simple 8-bar chord progression arose as an etude of sorts, illustrating the melodic minor scale function in terms of an Em7-A7-DmM7 progression on bars 7 & 8... i.e. starting from D Dorian, and altering the Am7 to A7 to provide a dominant function, yields the D melodic minor scale... recording process started with a beatboxed "live click" track, followed by a few iterations of bass guitar, guitar+wah, and synth drums... edited & mixed in Audacity with minor chopping of the drum track to fix a poor variation attempt :) digital delay effect added to guitar on bars where the drums are absent (tried to mix it up a little)...
