i started beatboxing this rhythm and then the bassline popped in my head... i knew right away that i didn't want to space this one so i quickly captured a voice note with the drum and bass parts. later the same weekend, i added the guitar part. this one alternates between the A Phrygian and G Dorian modes. since these are both minor modes a whole step apart, and they both contain minor pentatonic scales within them, they make a great pair for a modal vamp! although this is not a great rendition, it serves the purpose of capturing the idea. started with the beat boxed "live click" track, no effects on the bass (tuned EADGC, recorded 2nd)... electric guitar (with low E removed and tuned ADGCF) has a wah effect (recorded 3rd).
