In this audio I play Dr. Victoria Derleth-Smith, the Associate Librarian of Miskatonic University Libraries. This audio depicts her recording materials from the archives for ease of patron access. This is her final recording before her disappearance. The materials in question, primarily act 3, scene 10 of the play The Queen in Yellow, depict the final moments of Cassilda (the daughter of the exarch of Carcosa) and a mysterious Hooded Figure before Carcosa’s destruction. The pair have just exited a masquerade to find somewhere more private. They flirt and dance. The Hooded Figure is revealed to have a tentacle-like appendage between her legs which Cassilda takes into her mouth. After a bit more dancing, the two have sex on a couch, the experience enabling Cassilda to see beyond her reality. Terrified, she rejects further advances of the Hooded Figure, who proposes marriage, and then devours her out of love. Cassilda’s genital configuration is never specified. Where she is penetrated is never specified. The Hooded Figure’s genitals are referred to as appendage, tentacle, and member.
